THE CONNELLY FAMILY CLASS OF 2014
The Connelly family is one of the most accomplished tennis families in Oklahoma history. Their five children won 13 Individual State High School Tennis Championships helping Bishop McGuinness High School win a State Record 12 consecutive Girls Team Championships. Vicki coached at three high schools: Western Heights, Putnam City North, and Bishop McGuinness. She is the first woman to be inducted into the Bishop McGuinness High School Hall of Fame. Sarah Jane won 3 State High School Singles Championships, 2 Gold Balls, and 1 Bronze Ball. She was named a High School All-American. Her highest national ranking was 27 in Singles and 4 in Doubles. She attended Notre Dame University, was the team Captain 2004-05, and was Big East Conference Academic All-American 4 years. Lauren won 4 State High School Singles Championships going 76-0 in high school, never losing a single set in four years. She won 1 Gold Ball, 2 Silver Balls, and 3 Bronze Balls. Her highest national ranking was 2 in 14 Doubles and and 5 in 16 Doubles. She attended Notre Dame University, was the team Captain 2005-06, and was Big East Conference Academic All-American 4 years. She was a Quarterfinalist in the NCAA team tournament while at Notre Dame. Andy won 2 State High School Singles Championships, 1 Gold Ball, 2 Silver Balls, and 1 Bronze Ball. His highest national ranking was 2 in 14 Doubles and 1 in 16 Doubles. He attended Tulsa University and was All-American in 2008.
Morgan won 1 State High School Singles Championship and was a member of 2 State Championship Teams.
Katelyn won 3 State High School Singles Championships and was a member of 4 State Championship Teams while at Bishop McGuinness High School. She achieved a Missouri Valley Ranking of 7, a National Ranking of 38, and attended the University of Oklahoma on a tennis scholarship. She was also a Fed Cup member participant from the Missouri Valley Section.
