JERRY KEEN
CLASS OF 2013

Jerry Keen grew up in Norman, Oklahoma, and went to the
University of Oklahoma. He was a fund raiser for O.U.'s Touchdown Club
when he was asked to coach the school tennis team, which he did for 23
years from 1964-1987. He holds O.U.'s career coaching win-loss record
in any sport of 401-221-2 and holds the record for most wins in O.U. tennis
history. His teams won 63 consecutive dual matches from 1965-75 and
won twelve Big 8 Conference Team Championships (1966-74, '76, '77, and
'82). Eight of his team players have been inducted into the Oklahoma
Tennis Hall of Fame (Gayle Bradshaw, Joe Braver, Rob Braver, Dick Gilkey,
Rick Lashley, Paul Lockwood, Vance McSpadden, and Glen Mullins).
Everyone knew him as "Coach Keen." He passed away in 1987.
