Jerry Keen grew up in Norman, Oklahoma, and went to the University of Oklahoma.  He was a fund raiser for O.U.'s Touchdown Club when he was asked to coach the school tennis team, which he did for 23 years from 1964-1987.  He holds O.U.'s career coaching win-loss record in any sport of 401-221-2 and holds the record for most wins in O.U. tennis history.  His teams won 63 consecutive dual matches from 1965-75 and won twelve Big 8 Conference Team Championships (1966-74, '76, '77, and '82).  Eight of his team players have been inducted into the Oklahoma Tennis Hall of Fame (Gayle Bradshaw, Joe Braver, Rob Braver, Dick Gilkey, Rick Lashley, Paul Lockwood, Vance McSpadden, and Glen Mullins).  Everyone knew him as "Coach Keen."  He passed away in 1987.
