MEREDITH GEIGER WALTON

CLASS OF 2011


Meredith Geiger was born in 1973 in Phoenix, Arizona.  When she was five years old, she and her parents moved to Edmond, Oklahoma.  She began her tennis career at age six.  She played junior tennis from 1979 to 1990, and from age nine on, she was consistently ranked # 1 in Singles and Doubles in Oklahoma.  By age 11, she was ranked # 1 in the Missouri Valley Section, and was ranked # 1 nationally in doubles for several years.  Playing for Casady High School, she did not lose a Singles or Doubles match all four years.  On the National Junior Circuit, she won ten Gold Balls and four Silver Balls.

Meredith played four years of college tennis at Arizona State University.  While there, she was the All-Pac 10 Conference Player of the Year in 1994 and 1995.  She moved to Austin, Texas, and was the Assistant Women's Tennis Coach for the University of Texas for two years.

Meredith is a Certified USTA High Performance Coach.  While in Austin, she became the Director of Tennis for the St. Stephen's Junior Tennis Academy and continued in this position for eight years.  In 2008, she became the Head Women's Tennis Coach at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
